Corinthia Hotel Wedding Photographer
Adam and Justin had been together for sixteen years and had been waiting for same sex marriage to be legal, so this wonderful day at the Corinthia Hotel in London had been a very long time coming!
This is the amazing day in their own words:
“We wanted the ceremony to be very special. The choice to have a humanist ceremony was very easy. The basic premise of celebrating two people’s relationship and marking their choice to commit themselves to each other in front of family and friends fits wonderfully with the humanist ethos. It also meant we could really personalise it without the restrictions of a civil ceremony. We wanted music, stories about us, and very personal vows. We also wanted our guests to be able to enjoy a gin and tonic during it!
Legally Wed
The vision of the rest of the day was simple: How could we cram in as many of the things that we like into a party! We both love musicals, and hey, we were having a gay wedding, so the theme was a no brainer. We have seen Legally Blonde the musical about six times, so with the recent change in law, theming our wedding around a new musical and entitling it ‘Legally Wed’ just seemed a logical step. Then we could fill the premiere party with gin, magic, music, Percy Pigs and ceilidh dancing!
Spectacular First Dance
We felt quite a lot of expectation to do something really special for the first dance so we had choreography and lessons. Learning the routine together was really special for us both, although we were nervous performing it on the night, it was one of the highlights of the day. Looking into each other’s eyes on the dance floor and throwing in a high energy finish to surprise our guests is something we will remember forever.
We couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere other than in London. The Corinthia was perfect for us. Everything about the entrance, the service, that amazing chandelier made us so excited for the day. Having a meal and a few cocktails gave us a real sense of the importance that the Corinthia placed on service. This was really important to us – to help us give our guests the best possible experience.”
