Wedding Photography at the British Academy, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, London.
10-11 Carlton House Terrace is home to The British Academy. It’s an elegant venue overlooking St. James’s Park in the heart of London. This was my first visit and it was a pleasure to discover a new wedding venue and an even greater pleasure to be asked to photograph Bobby and Adam’s lovely winter wedding.
Some of my favourite photos from the day
I arrived as Bobby was getting ready just over the road at the Sofitel London, St. James. I love this time of the day, as it’s a chance to capture the anticipation and excitement for the day ahead. Then it was back over to the venue in plenty of time to catch Adam’s final moments as a single man as he welcomed the arriving guests.
This was a really joyful day, with so many favourite moments. I particularly love their expressions as the ceremony began and the moment at the end of the ceremony where the two mums clasped hands, symbolic of two families coming together. Daylight is in short supply in London in December, but we dashed out for some portraits outside along The Mall. There really is something magical about London in the gathering winter dusk, but it was good to get back into the warmth for some more shots with the Christmas tree as a backdrop!
Such an enjoyable day, rounded off with some emotional speeches and a fabulous evening party. Thanks so much to Bobby and Adam for asking me to be a part of it. If you are planning your wedding and looking for Carlton House Terrace Photography do get in touch. I’d love to hear your plans for the day.
