Hill Place Wedding Photographer
It really felt like summer had properly arrived for Louise and Huw’s wedding in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. This was my first visit to Hill Place – it’s such a perfect venue with a very welcoming and homely feel and stunning views across rolling hills to the Isle of wight in the distance. It seemed all very chilled and relaxed in the morning as I arrived with Louise and her bridesmaids getting ready upstairs. Meanwhile the boys relaxed by playing rugby on the lawn, before a quick shower and change and down to the pub next to the church for a quick pint or two before the ceremony.
Marriage service at St. Andrews Church
The church was a few miles down the road from Hill Place, so the couple had hired a beautiful vintage bus to make the journey, thus it felt as if we had traveled back in time as the 1946 Bedford carefully threaded its way through the picturesque villages. After a joyful service, the congregation emerged into brilliant warm sunshine.
Wedding Reception at Hill Place
The bride and groom arrived to a shower of confetti, afterward we took a short walk around the gardens for some photographs, incidentally including some on the roof where guests are allowed up to make the most of the views. Subsequently the wedding breakfast was roast beef – carved by a nominated guest at each table, with varying degrees of skill, it has to be said! A perfect evening followed with croquet on the lawn as the sun set before the ceilidh band set up to get the evening part started.
Louise’s stunning dress is by Karen Willis Holmes and the beautiful flowers are from Louise Avery.
I received a lovely note from Louise and Huw after the wedding: “…Thanks so much Nick they are amazing!!! So many great ones in there especially in the evening light…“
It was such a great pleasure to photograph Louise and Huw’s wonderful day. If you are looking for a Hill Place wedding photographer, I’d love to hear from you! Do get in touch!
