Morden Hall Wedding Photographer

Surprisingly, this was my first wedding at Morden Hall. It’s actually very close to where I live in so I was very pleased when Natalie and Ray asked me to photograph their beautiful celebration there a few weeks ago. I had been there before – I was a finalist in the Wedding Industry Awards and the London event was held there. Morden Hall is an exquisite 18th Century country house in South London . It is set within a huge area of beautiful National Trust parkland it really feels miles away from the bustle of the city.

Bridal preparations in the morning

I always arrive early – several hours before the marriage ceremony. Even if I know the venue I like to take a look around and make a note of the best spots for photographs. The ‘getting ready’ is a lovely part of the day and I’m really pleased with the pictures from this one. Using a wide angle lens on my camera I love the shots of the children being dressed in one of the grand rooms and Natalie serenely having her makeup as her mother and five bridesmaids and flower-girls look on. When she is in her wedding dress her mum and bridesmaid help her with her earrings and then she and her father share a joke with the registrar.

Outdoor reception in the sunshine

It turned out to be a really beautiful spring day. Warm sunshine meant the guests could all be outside in the gardens of Morden Hall and I had plenty of time to take the bride and groom off for a short walk for some relaxed portraits in the grounds. The wedding breakfast was amazing and the speeches that followed were emotional – there were more than a few tears! The evening ended with a great party and a very full dance floor!

From Natalie:

“Thank you so much… the photos are amazing!!  We and our families love the photos. As I thought you would, you have captured great moments and people’s personalities perfectly.  There is such a great variety and a total spectrum from the day. With great ones of the children, love the family shots and the big group one is fantastic. Really appreciated the time you took with us as a couple, as there are so many lovely natural shots together, which we both love. I have shared the photos with family so far and they are raving about them. We managed to download them with no problems as well.”
